Stanford and Stewart Eat Cake
Aaron Stanford (The Hills Have Eyes) and Kristen Stewart (Panic Room) will star in The Cake Eaters, which will also star screenwriter Jayce Bartok. The film will be actress Mary Stuart Masterson's directorial debut. The story follows a man who returns to his small hometown, and his strange brother who falls for a sick girl. Jessica Yu was previously attached to direct the picture.

Yu to direct Cake Eaters
Jessica Yu, who won an Academy Award for her short-form documentary Breathing Lessons: The Life and Work of Mark O'Brien, will direct the indie dramedy Cake Eaters. The screenplay for the film was written by Jayce Bartok, who will also star. The movie is set in small-town America and takes place over a two-day period. It revolves around two families that must contend with old ghosts and deal with some emotional struggles when the prodigal son of one of the families makes his return. Production is set to begin in August.
