Cast populates Land of the Dead

One day after Universal acquired the bulk of the rights for distribution of George A. Romero's Land of the Dead, a number of casting decisions were made. Simon Baker (The Ring 2), Dennis Hopper, John Leguizamo, Asia Argento and Robert Joy have all come aboard the latest zombie fest from the director who truly exemplifies the zombie genre. This portion of the story is set in modern times. Humans who have been unaffected by the zombie virus live in a walled city. The zombies, which are evolving into ever more powerful beings, live in the city beyond. Baker, Leguizamo and Argento all play a team of soldiers that is sent to do battle with these zombies.
