Voice talent goes to The Barnyard
Nick Movies and Paramount have singed up Courteney Cox, Danny Glover, Sam Elliott and Wanda Sykes as voices for the upcoming CGI-animated comedy The Barnyard. Kevin James is already set as the voice of the main character, a carefree cow called Otis. The film is being directed by Steve Oedekerk (Bruce Almighty) from a screenplay he wrote. The story revolves around a barnyard where the animals walk, talk, dance, sing and just flat-out party when the farmer’s away. Suddenly, Otis is forced to take some responsibility amongst his group, requiring him to summon up all his courage and self-confidence.
Cox will play Otis’ love interest Daisy, a pregnant cow, Glover is set to voice the old and wise mule named Miles, Elliott is Otis’ father Ben the cow, and Sykes is Bessy the cow, who is a little overprotective of Daisy.
It’s not the first time Oedekerk has worked with Nickelodeon. He also wrote and produced Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, which was a very successful outing for Paramount and the kids’ channel.
