Redford gets caught in a Web
Robert Redford will provide a voice role for one of the animated characters in the remake of Charlotte's Web, a combination live-action/CGI film that will star Dakota Fanning as Fern, the lead little girl. Redford will voice a horse that is afraid of spiders. Other voices will be played by Julia Roberts, Oprah WinfreyOprah Winfrey, John Cleese, Steve BuscemiSteve Buscemi, Cedric the Entertainer, Reba McEntire, Kathy BatesKathy Bates, Thomas Haden ChurchThomas Haden Church and Andre Benjamin. Gary Winick directs from a screenplay by Susannah Grant and Karey Kirkpatrick. The story is based on a beloved book by E.B. White.

Fanning caught in Web
Dakota Fanning will star as Fern in the live-action adaptation of E.B. White's classic children's book Charlotte's Web. Gary Winick is directing the film, which tells the story of a young girl who teams up with a spider named Charlotte to save a pig named Wilbur from becoming bacon and pork chops.

Nick Films to help with Charlotte's Web
Nick Films has come aboard to produce the live-action adaptation of the E.B.White children's story Charlotte's Web. Paramount is also in discussions with Walden Media to co-finance and distribute the film. Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich) wrote the screenplay, with revisions provided by Karey Kirkpatrick. Published in 1952, Charlotte's Web is the bestselling children's paperback of all-time. It tells the story of a young girl named Fern who teams with a spider named Charlotte to save the adorable and charming Pig, Wilbur. The film was previously adapted to an animated film in 1973.
