Tarantino's latest to bow on August 21st
Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds will be released by The Weinstein Co. here in the States on August 21st. Universal Pictures, which is in charge of international distribution, will announce overseas release dates soon.

Diane Kruger nabbed the role of Bridget Von Hammersmark, a character previously pegged for Nastassja Kinski. German star Til Schweiger also will appear in the movie as a member of the Nazi killer team.

Michael Fassbender snags Simon Pegg's role
Irish actor Michael Fassbender is set to replace Simon Pegg in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards. Pegg was originally in talks for the role of Lt. Archie Hicox, but had to bow out due to "insurmountable scheduling difficulties," according to his website.

Mike Myers to wipe out the Nazis
Quentin Tarantino enlisted Mike Myers to play Gen. Ed Fenech in Inglorious Bastards. The comedian's character is a military mastermind who helps wipe out Nazi leaders. Other cast members already signed include Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, Simon Pegg, Nastassja Kinski, David Krumholtz and B.J. Novak.

Brad Pitt is confirmed to play the head of the Jewish resistance, Lt. Aldo Raine, in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards. Additionally, Brit Simon Pegg is in talks to join the cast.

Universal to partner with Weinstein?
Universal is in talks to partner with Weinstein Co. on Inglorious Bastards, Quentin Tarantino's WWII project that is expected to begin production in October. The project features two story lines that eventually converge: One is about a group of prisoners-turned-soldiers who must take down Nazis, while the other follows a Jewish woman who aims to avenge her parents' deaths by the same Nazi group.

Quentin Tarantino eyes Pitt, DiCaprio for lead roles
Quentin Tarantino wants to land both Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in his latest feature. The director met with Pitt earlier this week in France and is scheduled to sit down with DiCaprio on Thursday. Shooting is expected to begin this fall in Germany and France.

Quentin Tarantino back with the Weinsteins for latest feature
Quentin Tarantino will reteam with Weinstein Co. for his World War II actioner, Inglorious Bastards, set to begin production in October. Not much is known about the film, other than that it centers on a group of soldiers who find themselves behind enemy lines.
