Farmiga joins The Departed
Vera Farmiga will play the female lead in director Martin Scorsese's The Departed for Warner Bros. She joins a strong cast that already includes Matt damon, Leoonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson and Anthony Anderson.

Anthony Anderson is Departed
Anthony Anderson has joined the cast of Martin Scorsese's The Departed, where he'll co-star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg and Jack Nicholson. Based on a screenplay by William Monahan, the story is adapted from the Hong Kong movie Infernal Affairs, which played in limited venues in North America in 2004. The story is centered in Boston, with Damon playing a gangster who infilitrates the police department. Meanwhile, on a parallel course, a cop (DiCaprio) has infiltrated the gang. Each man finds out that a mole has obtained access to the other's organization, and a race for discovery is on. Anderson will play a cop who has had a close relationship with both men.

Nicholson onboard Scorsese's The Departed
Jack Nicholson has joined the cast of Martin Scorsese's The Departed for Warner Bros. pictures. He'll star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg. The movie is based on the Hong Kong gangster film Infernal Affairs, which starred Tony Leung and was directed by Andrew Lau. The film will move its Hong Kong setting to Boston, where the story will interweave amongst Irish American mobsters and the cops who are their nemeses.
Nicholson will play an Irish gang boss. The two primary roles will be handled by Damon and DiCaprio.

Damon and DiCaprio go deep undercover for Scorsese
Matt Damon will take on the role originally planned for Brad Pitt in the upcoming Warner Bros. remake of the Hong Kong hit Infernal Affairs. Damon will star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio as the film moves its setting from Hong Kong to Boston in the midst of Irish mobsters and the cops with whom they battle.
Damon will portray a mobster who has been assigned the task of infiltrating the Boston police department. He first joins as a cadet, and then slowly manages to rise through the ranks to be a major player in the force. On the flip side, DiCaprio is a cop who has been undercover in the mob for some time, but is starting to come unglued. Both sides are working feverishly to flush out the moles, and the lives of the pair intersect in fascinating fashion.
