Turturro is aboard Longest Yard
Nicholas Turturro has signed on to play the quarterback Brucie in The Longest Yard, which stars Adam Sandler, Burt Reynolds and Chris Rock. The film is a remake of the 1974 movie that also starred Reynolds, featuring Sandler as a convict who leads a group of fellow inmates in a game against the guards. Turturro is the brother of John, who is frequently seen in movies from the Coen brothers.

Nelly to make movie debut in The Longest Yard
Rap star Nelly will have his first movie role in the upcoming Adam Sandler film The Longest Yard. He'll portray a running back on the prisoner's football team, which means he'll get to work right alongside retired NFL wideout Michael Irvin. Nelly will also provide a single for the movie's soundtrack.

Former pros join The Longest Yard
Three former NFL players have signed on for supporting roles in the remake of the prison football flick The Longest Yard. Bill Romanowski, Brian Bosworth and Michael Irvin will all be playing characters that play the exact same positions that they covered during their actual NFL careers. Bosworth and Romanowski will be on the prison guard team, while Irvin will be a wideout for the convicts.

Cromwell, Leachman and Fichtner join The Longest Yard
Three more additions have come onboard for this stellar cast. Cloris Leachman and William Fichtner have been added, but the real coup is James Cromwell. He has been cast in the Eddie Albert role from the original. Cromwell will play the evil warden who forces his inmates to participate in the fixed football game.
