Pink Panther moves again
After having already shuffled the film into, out of and back into the summer, Sony has moved The Pink Panther remake to debut on February 10th. In the past, Sony has had great luck with that same Valentine's Day weekend date, with Hitch and 50 First Dates finding success in that frame. Rory Bruer, the distribution president, said that the move will allow the studio to develop its marketing effort more fully. Sony inherited the project when they acquired MGM. Other movies currently scheduled for that date include Universal's animated Curious George and New Line's rom-com Just Friends.

Panther prowls to fall
MGM has moved the release date of The Pink Panther from July 22, 2005 to September 23, 2005, which currently has it competing with Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride. Part of the reason for MGM's decision is that Sony moved Mask of Zorro from that same September date to November. The studio saw the date as being open all to their film.
