Jack Nicholson has gone through a career renaissance of sorts by playing men who actually act his real age (he's now 66). In this romantic comedy, directed and written by chick-flick guru extraordinaire Nancy Meyers, he will play a New York City music executive who generally likes to date much younger women. While visiting the home of the mother of his latest trophy girlfriend (Amanda Peet), he has a heart attack.

His girlfriend has to return to the city, and he's left in the care of the girlfriend's mother (Diane Keaton), a woman who just happens to be a divorced playwright. He finds himself competing with his doctor (Keanu Reeves) as they both fall in love with this woman.

Perhaps a Jack Nicholson/Diane Keaton/Keanu Reeves love triangle isn't the most conventional of choices for subject matter, but the presence of these three performers guarantees that the movie will transcend demographics and has a great chance to be a breakout hit much in the way that Meyers' female-targeted comedy What Women Want was a few holiday seasons ago.

It's certainly a bold choice for Sony as the studio is positioning it as one of their big holiday tentpoles. Both About Schmidt and Anger Management have proven that Jack is still a hot commodity with movie audiences, so the decision looks to be quite savvy in its own right. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
