This comedy’s premise is that upon Bruce Lee’s death in 1973, a major film studio is left with 12 minutes of footage. After deciding that the footage is too valuable to just discard, they begin searching for a replacement.

Loosely based on the actual events that occurred five years after Bruce Lee’s shocking death when approximately 40 minutes of unused footage was pieced together with stand-ins and stunt doubles to create Game of Death (and worse still, Game of Death II). Game of Death somewhat spookily involves the story of a martial arts movie star who fakes his own death to wage a personal vendetta against those in the film industry who exploit actors.

Also, of note is that Bruce Lee’s son Brandon’s last film The Crow was released after his untimely death and involved using the same tricks as Game of Death to piece together enough of a film for release. (D. James Ruccio/BOP)
