If you're anything like most people, you probably hate your job. The daily grind is a drag, your work is unappreciated and your phone just refuses to stop ringing. If you're particularly unlucky, you work for one of those companies that thinks team-building is crucial, meaning that they send you out on trips where you'll solidify your relationships with your co-workers.
Severance takes this idea and puts it precisely in the realm where it belongs - horror. The movie begins as a bus leaves Budapest, taking seven employees of the international weapons manufacturer Palisade Defence to the mountains. The group will be spending an entire weekend at the company's brand new luxury spa lodge as guests of their president, George Cinders. However, things go really wrong when the weekend is sabotaged by a deadly enemy. The co-workers are forced to struggle for their very survival as they are targeted for the ultimate removal.
Magnolia distributes Severance, which will debut on limited screens in New York City. It's a unique premise for the horror genre, which should make it an intriguing proposition for fans of scary movies. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
