From Joe Carnahan, director of Narc, comes this dark action comedy that boasts a variety of stars - including Alicia Keyes and rapper Common in their motion picture acting debuts. The movie features a set of interlocking stories that stem from Mob boss Primo Sparazza calling for a hit on Buddy "Aces" Israel (Jeremy Piven), a scummy magician who has agreed to testify against the Vegas mob. The FBI sees this as an opportunity to bring down such a big fish as Sparazza, and take Aces into protective custody. Two agents, played by Ryan Reynolds and Ray Liotta, are sent off to Buddy's Lake Tahoe hideout to round him up.
Soon, though, word of the hefty price on Aces' head has enticed all types of bounty hunters, cons, hot chicks and mafia types to attempt the hit. It's a race to Tahoe to see who can get him first. Think of it as a dark Cannonball Run, with Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Andy Garcia, Peter Berg, Martin Henderson and Taraji Henson joining the other aforementioned cast members. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
