Dimension Films - the movie studio that brought us scary films like eXistenZ, Halloween: H20, and Wes Craven's Dracula 2000 - brings us another entry into this genre. This film is based on a short story by Phillip K. Dick, who also wrote the original stories for Total Reacll and Blade Runner.

Gary Sinise plays Spencer Olham, a weapons engineer who developed a weapon in the war against aliens. Everything was going along smoothly in his life. Now the powers-that-be think he is not who he says he is and has to prove that he's not an alien posing as Mr. Olham.

Based on the release date, it looks like this film is being put out there for Oscar consideration. But this film has had its release delayed four times in the past year, which usually isn't a good sign for a movie. This sounds like a promising film. Let's hope those extra months have helped them work the bugs out. (Marty Doskins/BOP)
