Dick (Jamie Bell) is an 18-year-old living in a poor mining town called Esterslope. Denizens of the village view him as a bit of an outsider.
One day, Dick finds a small revolver, and although he is a fervent pacifist, he finds himself somehow drawn to the weapon. He even names it Wendy. Soon, the fact that he has the power of the gun has made him able to attract other misfits who inhabit the town, and they call themselves the Dandies, which gives them a sense of identity and strength.
The group has a set of rules that must be followed. Despite the fact that each member of the Dandies has a personally named weapon, they have all sworn never to draw. This rule is the first and most important one that the group must follow. What they don't count on, however, is that situations can arise where rules must be broken because an even more vital principle is at risk. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
