Position Staff In Brief
22/47 Amanda Jones I tried to be appalled by it, but wound up amused instead.
52/76 Dan Krovich Not a particularly *good* movie, but enough fun to make it passable.
79/159 David Mumpower Linda Cardellini's rendition of Push It makes up for 75 minutes of mediocre frivolity.

Digg Button
After having played minor roles in almost every film Adam Sandler has ever done, Allen Covert will now be allowed to spread his own wings as Sandler's Happy Madison production company will work alongside 20th Century Fox on a new starring vehicle for his friend. Grandma's Boy is based on Covert's own spec script.

Covert will portray a 35-year-old man who works as the world's oldest video game tester for his day job, but in the evenings is working on the development of a game that should be the next big thing for the Xbox generation. After his roommate spends all their rent money on prostitutes, our hero finds himself evicted. What's a grown man to do except move in with his Grandma and her two elderly roommates?

The cast other than Covert is a who's who of familiar faces. Linda Cardellini is onboard, and while she might be best known to many as Velma in Scooby-Doo, her work in Freaks and Geeks and E.R. is much more impressive. Grandma and her friends will be portrayed by Doris Roberts - fresh off the end-run of Everyone Loves Raymond, Shirley Jones and Shirley Knight. Additionally, other Sandler staples like David Spade and Kevin Nealon will have roles. Rob Schneider is also aboard, presumably to utter, "You can do it!" (Kim Hollis/BOP)
