Woody Allen has practically made a career out of creating films with great buzz despite the fact that very little is known about the actual plot of the film. Such is the case with Melinda and Melinda, which as with many Allen films, features a large ensemble cast.

Already onboard in a key role is Big Star Du Jour Will Ferrell, who will be working alongside Vinessa Shaw (the mean ex-girlfriend in 40 Days and 40 Nights), Josh Brolin, Steve Carell (who recently starred with Ferrell in Anchorman), Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sports Night's Sabrina Lloyd, Radha Mitchell, Amanda Peet, Chloe Sevigny, Jonny Lee Miller and a host of others. Robert Downey Jr. was originally cast in the film, but was dropped due to the fact that his insurance premium was too costly to meet.

Look for the film to receive a small-scale release from Fox Searchlight pictures. Allen's star has faded somewhat in recent years, but still attracts a lot of attention whenever he has a project that is approaching release. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
