I thought this would be a good premise, but it's rushed and creepy on screen. Still, Aniston is lovely, and I actually laughed at Kidman and Swardson. |
Adam Sandler, one of the most affable personalities in Hollywood, goes to his comfort zone for Just Go With It, a romantic comedy that pairs him with everyone's favorite Friend and classic girl-next-door, Jennifer Aniston.
In the film, Sandler plays a plastic surgeon who begins dating a much younger woman (Mrs. Andy Roddick, aka Brooklyn Decker). When he tells her a lie involving a soon-to-be ex-wife, our hero has to enlist the aid of his loyal assistant (Aniston) to pretend to be his wife. Of course, shenanigans ensue as the lies continue to escalate, and eventually he's going with both women - plus his assistant's children - on a vacation to Hawaii, where things will obviously get uncomfortable before Sandler presumably realizes he was meant to be with Aniston all along. Come on, people. Some of these aren't really rocket science.
Also in the film, for some reason, is Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman, along with crooner Dave Matthews, Kevin Nealon, and Dan Patrick, who is supplementing his sports radio and Football Night in America money with bit roles in the majority of Sandler's Happy Madison productions.
Like most of Sandler's comedies, this one should have a nice, solid opening weekend, and if it follows the pattern of his other films, will make in excess of $100 million. The man is remarkably consistent. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
