One can imagine the pitch meeting for this one:

Executive #1: We've got two of the biggest stars of the genre, Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant, attached to star in a romantic comedy.

Executive #2: Great, what's it called?

Executive #1: Who cares?

And, thus, Untitled Hugh Grant/Sandra Bullock Romantic Comedy was born. It may not have been that simple, but it does almost seem like it has all of the elements to make it a no-brainer. The two stars have had great success in the genre, and it is currently scheduled to fit into that Christmas-time romantic comedy slot that has worked so well for films like last year's Kate and Leopold (in which Bullock was at one time attached to star) and Miss Congeniality (in which Bullock did star) from the year before.

Little has been announced about the plot other than that Bullock will play a neurotic lawyer, and Grant will play her rich, reckless boss. Maybe the title could be Bridget Jones' More Successful American Cousin. Marc Lawrence will make his feature film directorial debut with this movie, but he should already be familiar with his leading lady, seeing as he was the writer of Forces of Nature and Miss Congeniality.
