It has been quite a while since Tom Clancy's character Jack Ryan has graced the big screen. In 1994's Clear and Present Danger, Harrison Ford played Ryan. This time he gets aged backwards a little bit and Ben Affleck takes over the role.

If you've read the book, you'll notice a few changes: 1) The Muslim terrorists have been changed to neo-Nazis; 2) Ryan is just a CIA analyst instead of the CIA director; and 3) He's not married.

The main storyline involves the death of the President of Russia, the detonation of a nuclear weapon in Chechnya and the attempt to use another nuclear weapon at the Superbowl. The terrorists are trying to make it look like the Russians are behind this, in hopes of starting up the Cold War again. But never fear; with Jack Ryan on the case, the terrorists don't have a prayer.

The studio has pulled together quite a strong cast for this film. Some of the other people in this movie are Morgan Freeman (CIA director and Ryan's mentor) and James Cromwell (President of the USA). The casting of Affleck as Ryan should bring a fresh look to this character and bring in a younger crowd to theaters. (Marty Doskins/BOP)
