After making its debut at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, The Ten has been making the rounds at a variety of movie festivals across the country. Thus far, it's been received quite well, and an art house release will put it in front of a wider audience.
From David Wain and Ken Marino, who started together as writer/performers on The State, The Ten is composed of a series of vignettes that examine the Ten Commandments, all connected by a series of introductions from Paul Rudd, who portrays a frustrated husband who seems to be on the cusp of committing a little mortal sin.
The Ten features a great cast, many of whom are perfectly willing to put themselves in uncomfortable situations (sex with a ventriloquist's puppet, anyone?). Jessica Alba, Winona Ryder, Adam Brody, Gretchen Mol, Famke Janssen and Oliver Platt are amongst those who appear in the film.
Director Wain has previously achieved some cultish success with the comedy Wet Hot American Summer, and it appears that a similar fate is in the cards for The Ten. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
