Women aren’t the only ones who can write relationship self-help books. Jamie Foxx can do it well also. Daniel Taplitz has penned and directs this romantic comedy starring the well-liked comedian.

Foxx plays a man who has recently been unceremoniously dumped by his fiancée (Bianca Lawson). He decides to help out his fellow man by writing a book about how to deal with the breakup process. The book instantly becomes a national bestseller and rocketing Foxx’s character to fame. In the meantime, since he doesn't want his friends to suffer the same fate that he did before writing the book, he dispenses advice to them on how to dump their own girlfriends.

Adding to the already strong pedigree of the film are the marvelous Morris Chestnut and the luscious Gabrielle Union. Both actors are starting to become quite familiar with films of this genre -- they costarred in the thematically similar Two Can Play That Game and The Brothers.

Even if the premise is a tad bit "been there, done that," the usage of the hilarious Foxx as the lead and excellent previews give Breakin' All the Rules a pretty strong shot at box office consistent with predecessors like the aforementioned Two Can Play That Game, Brown Sugar, and Deliver Us From Eva. It definitely hits a niche audience that consistently is underestimated when it comes to supporting this sort of product. (Kim Hollis and Marty Doskins/BOP)
