Adam Sandler's 8 Crazy Nights
Release Date:
November 27, 2002
This is the first feature-length animated film from Meatball Animation, Adam Sandler's new animation studio.
The voice casting looks like a Saturday Night Live all-star reunion. Among the people providing voice talent are Adam Sandler (of course), Rob Schneider, Jon Lovitz, and Kevin Nealon.
The film is described by the writers as a "Hanukkah musical." It features an old basketball coach named Whitey, a character from one of Sandler's CDs. He meets the head of marketing for the New York Knicks, Davey, who thinks it would be a great idea for Whitey to coach the team and tries to talk him into helping out.
Previews have said this film has a PG-13 rating, but this couldn't be confirmed with the MPAA. Maybe they just meant that what they had seen of the movie should qualify it for that rating. Adam Sandler has proven to be a big box-office hit in the past. Let's hope this new venture turns out well for him. (Marty Doskins/BOP)
