The Kennedy assassination has been the subject of numerous books, television programs, and movies. This "documentary" takes a unique perspective on this subject. Our main character was supposedly directly involved in the shooting. He was the second gunman on the grassy knoll.

Director and screenwriter Neil Burger makes his feature-film debut with this movie. He uses a digital video camera to his advantage in the shooting of the film. It makes the film look like a homemade video diary rather than a full-blown professional documentary. In fact, many comparisons have been made to the style of The Blair Witch Project.

Our narrator/documenter is an unemployed television reporter/cameraman named Ron Kobeleski (Dylan Haggerty). His neighbor, an old ex-Marine named Walter Ohlinger (Raymond J. Barry), finds out that he has terminal cancer and decides to tell his side of the story. He tells Ron that he was the second gunman in the Kennedy shooting.

Ron and Walter travel to Dallas to recreate the shooting and try to put together the pieces of the assassination. Hopefully, the two of them will be able to put to rest the biggest conspiracy theories in history. Or is Walter just looking to get his proverbial 15 minutes of fame?

The film had its world premiere at the 2002 Tribeca Film Festival and has received quite a bit of buzz throughout the film world. It was even awarded Best Film honors at the 2002 Woodstock Film Festival. (Marty Doskins/BOP)
