Based upon the success of past films, studios are cranking out a lot of war movies for release. Colin Farrell and Bruce Willis star in this World War II movie set in a POW camp. Hart's War is based on the novel by John Katzenbach.

Willis plays fourth generation war hero Colonel William McNamara. Being the highest-ranking American officer, he commands his fellow inmates in a brutal German POW camp. Always looking for a way to help win the war, he enlists the unwitting help of young Lieutenant Tommy Hart (Farrell) who has recently been brought to the camp.

A murder occurs in the camp and McNamara assigns Hart to defend Lieutenant Lincoln Scott (Terrence Howard) from the charges brought against him. With the court martial distracting the Germans, McNamara sets a plan in motion to escape and destroy a nearby munitions plant.

This movie sounds a lot like the classic Stalag 17, which was the inspiration for the Hogan's Heroes series. But this time we get a little legal thriller thrown in. If you're interested in the book, there's an excerpt available on Amazon.com. (Marty Doskins/BOP)
