Three of Hearts: A Postmodern Family
Sam, a hyperactive young man whose father was a Mafia hitman, and Steven fell in love while they were attending college during the early 1980s. A few years later, Sam just happened to mention that it would be really nice to have a woman in the relationship as well. Seven years after the men fell in love, they meet Samantha. Sam and Samantha fall fast and hard for each other, but things still managed to work as Steven and Samantha were able to feel a warmth and deep love, too.
The documentary that highlights this 'trinogomous' relationship comes into the story several years after the unusual tale begins. The film examines the trio through anecdotes and thoughts from Sam, Steven and Samantha as well as observations and ideas from their families and friends. And although the three wish to have a child, the question is, whose will it be? It's name will begin with 'S', but that's about all that is clear. After being happy for several years, the cracks in the trio's foundation begin to show. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
