Richard Gere stars as John Klein, a man who starts to investigate the mysterious circumstances of his wife's death, but ends up deeper than he ever expected. This movie is based on real-life events.

John, a journalist from the Washington Post is living the high life with a great job, a beautiful wife (Debra Messing), and a search for a dream house. Suddenly, his wife is involved in a fatal car accident. As he's picking up her belongings at the hospital, he finds a bunch of strange drawings on a sketchpad of an eerie figure she had mentioned to him.

Several years later, John gets lost as he is driving from Washington to Richmond for an assignment. Once he gets his bearings straight, he realizes that he's in Point Pleasant, West Virginia - 400 miles form where he should be! He begins an intense investigation into many unusual occurrences in this town that seem to predict upcoming disasters. They also seem to be connected somehow to his wife's death. Is it the work of aliens visiting Earth? Is it just coincidence? This is what John will try to uncover.

This could be an interesting look at an unexplained mystery that many people may not be familiar with. Let's see if Richard Gere can back into a more serious role after several romantic outings. (Marty Doskins/BOP)
