Snow Dogs

Based on the personal experiences of Gary Paulsen in the Iditarod dogsled race, Snow Dogs stars Cuba Gooding, Jr., as a Miami dentist whose biological father is a dogsled racer and who, upon his biological mother's death, is summoned to Alaska. The movie also stars James Coburn, presumably as Gooding's father.
Early indication is that this movie from the Mouse House will be similar to Snow Day and will have a light-hearted feel to it. Considering the subject matter and the seemingly tame premise, the movie might have a difficult time finding an audience. This far out, with so little information available, it is difficult to discern whether the movie will have any appeal to kids, which it will probably need to see a reasonable measure of success. Early indication, however, is that it will be a G-rated, Disney-branded film and will skew young. It remains to be seen if Snow Dogs can find an audience, or if it will be left out in the cold.
